In math, we are learning to count and write numbers 21-30. There is a strategy where you use "10 frames" to model numbers. Since we are counting up to 30, there are three sets of 10 frames.
I created a work mat where the students could flip through and count out the same number of kisses. I used this project during center time.
After we worked with the manipulative, we used this same concept to make a craft. I made each student a mat with 20 kisses already on the paper, and they had to color them in to make them look like kisses.
Then, they could add between 1-10 more kisses that I cut out of construction paper. They counted the total number of kisses and I wrote it on their paper.
Here is the finished product!
This activity looks like so much fun! Especially if you get to eat the Hershey Kisses at the end! :)
