Tag, I'm It!

 So here are the rules:


1. You must post the rules.
2. Post 12 fun facts about yourself on the blog post.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create 12 new questions for the people you tagged.

Questions for me:
1 - What's your favorite season? I have to say Fall...I live in Southern CA, and don't get to see fall leaves that much...but I LOVE the idea of playing in them!
2 - What's your favorite book? Right now: The Hunger Games.  All Time: The Shack.
3 - What's your favorite TV show? LOST and Friday Night Lights: I heart Tim Riggins.
4 - How do you celebrate March is reading month? We have Dr. Seuss week (and a must do, PJ day).  I have the students bring in their favorite books and we have a reading day in our comfy PJ's.
5 - Where do you live? Orange County, CA
6 - What's your favorite thing to teach? Writing!!!! I love teaching Kindergarten especailly becasue I get to watch the writing process unfold from the beginning of the year until the end. 
7 - How do you track student progress? I use ongoing assessments thoughout the year so I can show their progress.  I also use the district test starting at the beginning of the year to see when they have mastered what they need to know by the end.  I keep a portfolio of thier work also, so I can go back to examples of thier work.
8 - How do you use technology in the classroom? I have an ELMO in the classroom, so I use that all day, I show video clips for the letters that we are learning, or whatever the topic is. 
9 - Do you use Accelerated Reader? How do you reward kids for points if you do? No I don't... :(
10 - Do you play sports? What?  I did play sports...basketball.  Now I coach when I get the opportunity.  Last year, I ran a 1/2 marathon and that might be something I will do in May as well.
11 - How much time do you spend doing your hair each morning? post shower: 20 minutes: its really short so I blow dry and straighten and then I'm out the door!  If there isn't a shower: 5 minutes to give it a quick straighten.
12 – What’s your favorite memory from high school?  Our mascott was the Barons.  One of my friends had access to the giant suit that the mascot would wear...he would "borrow" it on the weekends and wear it around the mall.  We would watch as the crowds would just looked at him really confused.  :)
