4th of July SALE!

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I am throwing a 4th of July SALE to celebrate.  Everything in my TPT store is 15% off from July 4-6th.  Click on the picture to head on over and take a gander. :)

I also want to share with you some simple patriotic projects that I did with my summer school class this week!  First, we made an American flag out of popsicle sticks.  We painted 6 sticks white and 6 red.  We glued them down in a pattern, then added a blue square and some star stickers to finish up!

I also introduced them to the linguistic pattern: I see ____.  We practiced reading: I see red. I see blue. I see white, in the pocket chart.  Then I made a printable for the students to trace these sentences and add to their American flag craft.

We also talked about different traditions to celebrate the 4th of July...and of course, we talked about fireworks!  I hand drew fireworks onto construction paper and then had the students trace the lines with glue.  To add some sparkle, we sprinkled glitter on each firework!

I had them glue and glitter one firework at a time so I could keep the glitter from mixing up.  That way, I could pour it back in the container to use it again!

Happy 4th everyone! :)

  2. Happy fourth!!! I love your idea of putting the paper in a tub and then glitterfying (don't think that's a word...) to reduce the mess and save the extra glitter!!! I never thought of that! Thanks!!! :-)

  4. I love the glitter fireworks-I was looking for something fun to do with my summer school kids! :)
